About this Episode
This week we look at how much you should charge for that magic item in the window. We all know that pricing items within the fantasy economy of a D&D campaign can be tricky. As a DM, you are trying to provide a balance between retail realism and just keeping the story moving. And it helps to have some sort of accurate guide for whenever a PC might decide to haggle, which is whenever they go into a shop.
Join us as we peruse some of the magic items whose prices are not adequately estimated by the systems laid out in the DMG and XGtE. We will be using a composite list that draws from two of the internet's favourite price lists for 5e magic item: the Sane Price List, and the Discerning Merchants Price Guide. To follow along, feel free to check out the spreadsheet here.
Find out which price is right, and also how you can make coin by breaking ladders (and lots more) in this episode of Like Dragon Like Son, a podcast hosted by Jay and Jack Oatway where they discuss everything D&D, from character builds to personal experiences. Stay tuned for new episodes on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.
