With the announcement of a new D&D adventure book, The Candlekeep Mysteries scheduled to come out this spring, we stop to have a quick look at the lore surrounding Candlekeep and find out why it attracts knowledge seekers like moths to a flame.
Candlekeep Mysteries is a collection of seventeen short, stand-alone D&D adventures designed for characters of levels 1-16. Each adventure begins with the discovery of a book, and each book is the key to a door behind which danger and glory await. These adventures can be run as one-shot games, plugged into an existing Forgotten Realms campaign, or adapted for other campaign settings.
We talk about the price of admission: a rare book or scroll that the library doesn't yet have. And we talk about some of our favourite in-game tomes that might get us through the gates of Candlekeep.
We also discuss group Patrons and how to run one from a library -- any library. We share some thoughts on other great libraries across the D&D universe.
Welcome to Like Dragon Like Son, a podcast hosted by Jay and Jack Oatway where they discuss everything D&D, from character builds to personal experiences. Stay tuned for new episodes on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts.
